Invitations, planning and a wedding, oh my! The time has finally come to turn your dream wedding from Pintrest into a reality. Wondering where to begin? Welcome to class, wedding-planning 101 is now in session

Take some time to enjoy the newly engaged bliss, but be prepared to hit the ground running 12 months before the big day! Although your wedding may seem forever away, you will be surprised at how time will fly. Drafting the guest list and registering at your favorite stores are two quick things to easily knock out of the way before any crazy planning really begins. Also, booking a venue so far in advance will guarantee that your perfect location will be available. Eliminating these tasks early will relieve any unnecessary stress.

About 10 months before, you should decide on an officiate. Maybe someone who will crack a few jokes? Maybe someone who will make the ceremony special and intimate? So many decisions, and it doesn’t end there! Now is also when you select your bridal party and choose the vendors. Sisters or friends? Buffet style or sit-down?

Ever since you got engaged you have been searching for your perfect dress. Now, about eight months before, is the best time to order! Another exciting activity is the cake tasting and ordering. The dress and cake will be front and center so figuring them out early will allow plenty of time to create perfection.

Woo! You have reached the halfway point! Time to really focus and get a lot accomplished. Send out save the dates, book the honeymoon, order the bridesmaids’ dresses and purchase the wedding bands! Whew! Although it may sound like a lot, if you just take one step at a time you will be surprised at how quickly things go. After all, you did just fly through six months of planning!

With four months to go, now is the time to select the groomsman attire. You want them looking sharp, right? Also, confirm vendors, plan the rehearsal dinner and decide on your wedding day look. This way when the big day around the corner you won’t have to worry about any last minute details.

Two months to go! Get those invitations in the mail! Write those vows! Purchase accessories and confirm day of transportation! You wouldn’t want to be late to your own wedding now would you?

Crunch time has arrived. About six weeks to a month before the big day, be sure to apply for your marriage license and to get everything printed. Don’t forget to relax and have a little fun with your girls at your bridal shower and bachelorette party! Every girl needs one last night on the town.

T-minus two weeks and counting. Within those last few weeks be sure to attend your final dress fitting, review music with the DJ or band and give a shot list to the photographer. Don’t forget to do a final headcount and to finalize the seating chart. Knowing these little tasks are done will allow you to feel more at ease.

The wonderful wedding weekend has finally arrived! You have finished up every last detail. You have been pampered like a princess. You have finished a successful rehearsal dinner.

Now it is time to spend your final night as a Ms. and dream of becoming a Mrs.. Tomorrow starts the next chapter in this crazy book called life.
