It’s wedding season. One of the key features of a wedding is the dress. But the basic wedding dress isn’t going to cut it anymore. The designers are scraping for new ideas for how to fashion a wedding dress worthy of the new brides of today. However, a new Tampa designer just might have what it takes to deck out these blushing brides.

Maggie Sottero became an established designer in 1997 and has been recognized as one of the most innovative designers in the bridal industry. This year, critics are saying “I Do” to Sottero’s new collection of Great Gatsby inspired looks. She has developed a collection of vintage 20’s and 40’s Hollywood Bo Chic Art Deco pieces that will fit even the most modern bride. Sottero combines eccentric embroidery, vintage lace, and chiffon, silk, and tulle fabrics into deep V necks, full skirts, and flapper-style bodies.

One of the most unique aspects of these dresses is Sottero’s ability to come up with a show stopping neckline. Many of the bodices on these dresses have been fashioned with a plunging neckline, a boat neck, a sweatheart neckline followed by capped sleeves, or a keyhole neckline. The Fitzgerald Age has found its way into the world of fashion, and up and coming designers are embracing it, including Maggie Sottero. The Gatsby inspired collections, already in stores, are going to be followed by Art Deco designs in the Spring collections next year.
